Cape Cod Dog Camp (CCDC) is
situated ten minutes from the
Bourne Bridge on nine wooded
acres. Dogs romp freely all day
looking out into the pond,
barking at the ducks, and
playing chase games.
Daily activities include unlimited
swimming in kiddie pool,
walking around the three acre
cranberry bog, a lake swim
and, of course, playtime.
All dogs who board at the Cape are preinterviewed to make sure they will get along with their playmates. Senior dogs and toy dogs are kept separate from the rough and tumble play and often enjoy a quiet bedroom to themselves.
The dogs run around a three acre fenced area until rest time when they are put in 24 X 24 foot pens with their favorite friends. All the pens are under shady oak trees. Play periods in hot weather are typically two to three hours long followed by one to two hours of rest. A large kiddie pool provides relief from the heat as does the air-conditioned kitchen.
The dogs sleep area is right below the human bedrooms so we hear everything and can comfort and toilet homesick puppies. Dogs return home from camp exhausted, happy and well mannered.
