"The Method"

The training method I use has evolved from working with dogs in the competitive arena and at home living with my 5 dogs. The "training method" is "lure/reward". We teach the puppies to follow our fingers holding food and mold their bodies into position this way. We also use the natural pack order and law to create clear dog messages. Dogs love this because we speak to them in their language.

For puppies and children we teach correct play and petting. We keep kids from becoming rabbits or prey to the dogs by keeping them off the floor. We never allow face petting or "offering fingers" to young puppies learning the "no bite" command and natural pack rules.

Behavior changes faster for dogs than humans so we must get all house members on the same page regarding house rules.
